Your Earwax Can Tell How Healthy You Are. What Color Is Yours?

Most people are not aware of the fact that earwax is not just dirty buildup in our ears, as it is created by our bodies to prevent dirt and bacteria from entering the ear canal. However, often times the ear wax can provide a lot of information about our overall health, and signify us if something is wrong with our body.

  1. Yellow, wet and sticky

This type of earwax is usually found in adults, and it helps the canal from drying out and becoming itchy.

  1. Gray

Gray earwax looks unusual, however, it is perfectly normal and it is the result of the ear’s natural cleaning process. If it is dry, it could be a sign of eczema.

  1. Pale yellow

Pale yellow earwax is mostly found in children, as they produce more wax than adults.

  1. Sticky and dark

Dark and sticky earwax indicates that the body is perspiring more than usual, but it still doesn’t mean anything is wrong with your body.

  1. Dark and thick

If your wax is dark and thick, it is a sign that you’re under a lot of stress and anxiety, and it is recommended that you try and stay relaxed while cleaning your ears regularly.

  1. Dry, white and flaky

Dry, white and flaky earwax is perfectly normal in healthy individuals, and it means that the person produces less body odor than others.

  1. Black or dark brown

Dark brown or black earwax can seem scary, but it is nothing to worry about, as it is just the result of overproduction of wax.

  1. Wet and runny

Wet and runny earwax on the other hand, is no normal sight, as if it comes along with pus or blood, it means that your eardrum is perforated. Immediately seek medical attention.

  1. Bloody wax

Old earwax looks like dried blood, so try not to mistake it and get medical attention as soon as you notice it.
